He Considers the Old & the New Stories

this trail is crossed
by an even narrower track
as of rabbits and squirrels

yet the only prints clear
are of tiny high-heeled boots
and a walking stick

this is clear and far too goofy
he does not believe in little people
prefers notions more sophisticated
complex parallel universes, say,
somehow twisted, crossed,
or a time warp, one timeline
swollen one shrunken

notes in all that
implied other realities
other kinds of people
so    why not little

moves on
careful where he steps
